Estherville – Services for Mrs. Bertha K. Bauman, 88, Estherville, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. John Besore, III officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Sunday, April 4, 1993 at Good Samaritan Center.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.

She was born July 28, 1904 at Terril, the daughter of George and Meta (Boysen) Cook and began her education in Sioux City schools and continued in Terril where she graduated from high school in 1925. She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls in 1927 with a degree in education. On Nov. 23, 1932 she married Harry Bauman at Lakefield, Minn. After marriage she helped her husband operate the Estherville Hardware Store from 1935 until retiring in 1960. She had been a resident at Good Samaritan Center since August of 1992.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the United Presbyterian Women.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Johnson, and grandchildren Grant and Andrea Johnson all of Minneapolis; brothers Ed Cook, Sun City, Ariz. and Marvin Cook, Glendale, Calif.; one sister, Hilda Lamp, Sheffield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry, on Oct. 12, 1992; one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 7, 1993)
