Estherville – Funeral services for Lyle Lucile Bartleman, 89, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville with Linda Blinkmann, AIM officiating. Interment will be held at the East Side Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville,.Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
Lyle was born on Aug. 13, 1914 in Estherville, the daughter of Charles and Alta (Lyle) Anderson. She received her education in Estherville and Waterloo schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1932.
On Feb. 12, 1933, she was united in marriage to Elmo Bartleman in Estherville. Following their marriage, the couple lived on a farm near Superior.
In 1942 the couple moved into Estherville and Lyle received her Certified Nurse Aide certificate. She was employed by Yates Stationary and also she kept books as a volunteer for Prairie Craft Store.
Lyle was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville. For hobbies, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school activities, shopping, knitting, traveling and her cat.
Lyle is survived by her children, Larry Bartleman and his wife, Susan of Des Moines; Dixie Riedermann and her husband, Ron of Green Bay, Wis.; and Peggy Semrad and her husband, John of Estherville; her grandchildren, Jim and Amy Riedermann of Madison, Wis.; Jodi and Noah Freedman of Burke, Virginia; Greg and Angela Bartleman of Des Moines; Tim and Chandra Bartleman of Des Moines; Andy Bartleman and his fiancé, Sheryl Hassebrock of Polk City; Jeff and Julie Moreau of Sergeant Bluff; Sarah Moreau and her fiancé, Dean Anderson of Loma Linda, Calif.; and Jason Wilson of Des Moines; her great-grandchildren, Molly and Doug Riedeman, and Joshua, Jacob and Rachel Bartleman.
She has been preceded in death by her husband, Elmo on Oct. 17, 1975 and her mother, Alta Carr. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 23, 2003)
