Estherville – Earl William Farris, 57, Estherville, was pronounced dead-on-arrival Wednesday [December 5, 1979] evening at Holy Family Hospital.

Services for Mr. Farris will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Jim Harmon of the Christian Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday until time of services.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Farris, he was born Dec. 26, 1921, at Maurice. He received his education in Lone Rock schools and was married to Regina Mutchler on Sept. 11, 1948, at Missouri Valley.

The couple farmed in the Wallingford area until moving to Estherville in 1958, where he was employed by Golden Sun Feeds for the past 21 years. He was a member of the Estherville Christian Church.

Mr. Farris is survived by his wife, Regina, Estherville; his mother, Cora Farris, Estherville; a foster son, Frank Purcell, Billings, Mont.; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 6, 1979)
