Estherville – Services for Leona Marginia Enderson, 80, of Estherville, will be held Saturday, April 18, 1998 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville with interment in East side cemetery, Estherville. She died Wednesday, April 15, 1998 at Holy Family Health Services, Estherville.Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
She was born September 19, 1917 on a farm near Ringsted, the daughter of Franklin and Cecilia Marie (Bogh) [Laidig]. She received her education in the country schools and graduated from Maple Hill High School. On Dec. 31, 1942 she married George Enderson, Sr. at Omaha, Neb. The couple lived in San Luis Obispo, Calif. during World War II, and moved back to Estherville where he worked for John Morrell & Co. Leona has been a resident at Good Samaritan Center in Estherville since April of 1996. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville.
Survivors include daughters: Frankey DeRoad, Hudson, S.D., Mrs. Marvin (Cecilia) Gerstandt, Paullina, Mildred Feldhacker, Ashland, Wis., Mary Jo Henderson, Spencer; sons: George Jr., Dubuque, Ole, Armstrong, Tyrone of Perry; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Paul Laidig, Estherville and sister, Edith Huntley, Dolliver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, June 16, 1982, parents; three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 17, 1998)
