Estherville – Services for Marie Elsbury, 83, of Estherville, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Jack Peterson officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died Thursday, April 4, 1996 at Holy Family Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born May 18, 1912 in Alcester, S.D., the daughter of Fred and Anna (Ryken) Wilkens. She received her education in the Alcester, S.D. schools graduating from high school there. She then attended one year of business school in Sioux City. She worked several places before moving to Estherville in 1953 where she was employed as a bookkeeper. She later did bookkeeping from her home, retiring in 1980 due to her health. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville and the 50 plus Club.

Survivors include step-daughters Mrs. Wayne (Bonnie) Urban of Lake Mills and Mrs. David (Janet) Bringle of Spencer; stepsons Irvin Elsbury of Cherokee and Bernard Elsbury of Sutherland; nephew, Warren Wilkins, Alcester and niece Darla Wilkens, Sioux Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; parents; one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 6, 1996)
