Crystal Lake, Ill. – Graveside services for Eugene Francis Eike, 68, of Lakewood, formerly of Estherville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the East Side Cemetery. He died Sunday, July 28, 1991 at his home.

He was born May 30, 1923 in Estherville, the son of the late Glen and Emma (Saathof) Eike. On Sept. 5, 1943 he married Frances Sears in Estherville. She preceded him in death in 1983. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Crystal Lake and a Veteran of the US Army from World War Two. He was also a member of the Cary Country Club, the American Can Bowling League and Lakewood Village Zoning Board.

Survivors include a son, Rev. Steven Eike, Crystal Lake; daughters: Susan Drum and Nancy Pihoda; eight grandchildren; one brother, Robert Eike, Adel. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 1, 1991)
