Rites Tuesday for Rudolph DeWall
Rudolph DeWall, 68, of Estherville, former resident of the Wallingford area, died Saturday at Holy Family hospital. Death was attributed to a heart condition after being in failing health for a year. Services were held Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Estherville.Mr. DeWall was born on July 10, 1897, on a farm in Twelve Mile Lake township. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph DeWall. Mr. DeWall was educated in the Terril schools.
He was married to Ida Peton Feb. 25, 1919, at Terril. His wife preceded him in death May 22, 1965.
The DeWalls farmed at Terril and Wallingford until 1935, when they moved to Estherville. Mr. DeWall had been employed by the Estherville Co-Operative Creamery and Golden Sun Feeds, Inc. He retired from Golden Sun in 1962.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church of Estherville.
Mr. DeWall is survived by a daughter, Virginia DeWall; a son, Verlyn, of Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Glen Rauhauser, of Estherville, and Mrs. Frank Peton, of Graettinger; and three brothers, George and Henry of Estherville and William of Fenton.
