Paul Derrickson Dies; Rites Held on Saturday
Paul Milton Derrickson, 54, of Gruver, former resident of the Graettinger area, died early Thursday morning at Holy Family hospital. Death was attributed to emphysema and other complcations.

Services were held Saturday at the Reese-Henry funeral home in Estherville with the Rev. Dick – officiating. Burial was in East Side cemetery.

Derrickson, an engineer for the Rock Island Railroad, was born Sept. 7, 1915, at Emmetsburg to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Derrickson. He was educated in the Graettinger schools.

Derrickson married Bernice Togstad in 1941. Two children were born to this marriage.

He went to work for the Rock Island Railroad in 1947 and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

In 1949, he moved to Estherville where he lived until 1963, when he moved to Iowa Falls. He moved to Gruver Sept. 6 of this year.

He was married July 8, 1952, to Goldie Martens at Jackson, Minn.

Survivors include his wife, Goldie, one son, Dwight, Wallingford, a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (--) Burge, Wallingford; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jim (Patricia) ---, Chicago; five grandchildren; one brother, Melvin, Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Emmet Harris and Mrs. Bud Harris, Graettinger.
