Estherville – Goldie M. Derrickson, 77, of Estherville, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 1995 at Holy Family Hospital. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. No service will be held. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 8, 1918 at Mountain Lake, Minn., the daughter of Cornelius and Nettie (Adrian) Martens. She attended Mountain Lake School and graduated from high school there in 1937. She moved to Estherville in 1950. She was employed at the Gardston Hotel. She was united in marriage with Paul Derrickson in 1952 at Jackson, Minn. She later managed the Greyhound Bus Depot for five years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary; Emmet County AARP and RSVP, where she helped with the Babe’s program.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Patricia) Jacobson of Willow Springs, Ill.; granddaughter: LaRonna Hibbs, and great-grandchildren, Joey and Stephanie Hibbs, of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband who died Sept. 25, 1969 and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 9, 1995)
