Estherville – Services for LaVonne T. Day, 77, of Estherville, will be held Friday, at 2 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Larry Willey of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. She died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998 at Avera Holy Family Health Services in Estherville.

There will be no visitation.

She was born Oct. 30, 1921 at Salina, Kansas, the daughter of D.A. and Bertha (Swan) Sears. She received her education in the Kasson, MInn. schools graduating from high school there in 1939. On April 26, 942 she married Milton (Bob) Day at the First Presbyterian Church in San Francisco. After their marriage she lived in California for a short time while Bob was drafted for the war. The couple have lived most of their married life in Estherville. She was employed at L.M. Christensen Store many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville.

Survivors include her husband, Milton (Bob) Day of Estherville, sons: Michael of Roseburg, Ore. and William of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Christopher Day, Las Vegas, Nev., Jason Day, Omaha and granddaughter Makayla Day of Estherville; a brother Alfred Sears of Cleveland, Ohio and sister, Mrs. Eldie (Dorothy) Elwood, Spirit Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Francis Eike. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 12, 1998)
