Estherville – Funeral services for Caroline Corrine Carrier, 76, of Estherville will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church here with the Rev. Tom Balm officiating. Mrs. Carrier died Friday [July 10, 1987] at Rosewood Manor.Burial will follow at the East Side Cemetery with the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation was held Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carrier was born July 20, 1910, at Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John F. and Eva Brewer (Mullin) Kurth. She graduated from high school in Cedar Rapids and was married to Ira E. “Gene” Carrier Nov.1, 1927, in Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Carrier was employed by the State of Iowa as a conservation officer, and the couple made their home in Marengo, Council Bluffs, Hampton, Prairie Rose State Park, Harlan, Davis City, and Estherville, where they couple lived following Mr. Carrier’s retirement. He died Aug. 30, 1973.
She was a member of United Methodist Church of Estherville, and of Rebekahs.
Survivors include a son and two daughters, Donald R. Carrier of Bellevue; Barbara Osborn of Lakewood, Colo., and Frances Woods of Crescent. Ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, and two half brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 13, 1987)
