Estherville – Funeral services for Marilyn M. Carr 75, of Estherville will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Lynn A. Potter officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery Estherville. She died Saturday, Nov. 3 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Marilyn was born on July 22, 1926, the daughter of Delbert and Elsie (Seeger) Torman in Jackson, Minn.

She received her education in the Jackson schools, graduating from Jackson High School in 1943.

On June 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Clarence E. Carr at the United Methodist Church in Estherville.

Following the couple’s marriage, they made their home in Estherville where she was employed in the Estherville school system as a head cook for 26 years. Clarence died June 26, 1975.

Marilyn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville.

She is survived by two daughters, Carmyn Olson and Rosemary Carr, both of Estherville; four grandchildren, Todd Olson, Phillip Olson, Heather Bandow and Andrea Olson; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Delores Oelkers of Sherburn, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 5, 2001)
