Bethand Janett Harden was born in Iowa, April 27, 1860, and died at Hinckley, Minn., March 6, 1918, the cause of death being cancer of the stomach, which she had been a patient sufferer for over a year. All that loving hands could do was done.
She was united in marriage to Ben Elsberry, September 20, 1877, to this union was born eight children, three girls and five boys, six living, Rosa and Emery having preceded her. Amos, Ernest, Ida Carpenter and Vina Duncan living Frazer, Iowa; Owen and Creda at home. Mrs. Carpenter and Ernest were unable to attend the funeral on account of sickness. Besides her husband and children she leaves an aged mother, one sister and three brothers,
She was a devoted Christina, belonging to the Christian church at Estherville, Iowa, was ever ready with a willing hand wherever needed. She was highly respected by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Sunday morning and remains laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery beside Emery, who died May 14, 1914.
