Estherville – Funeral services will be held at United Methodist Church in Estherville for Audrey Lenetta Carman, 82, who died Saturday [December 19, 1987] at Holy Family Hospital.

The Rev. Tom Balm will conduct the services with burial to follow at East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carman was born Aug. 3, 1905, at Elk Point, S.D. the daughter of Harry G. and Pearl Kate (Fennel) Shearon. She received her education in the Elk Point schools and at the teachers college that is now South Dakota State University at Brookings, S.D.

She taught school in Dimock, S.D. before marrying John M. Carman Aug. 18, 1927 at Elk Point. After her marriage, the couple lived at Elk Point and later at South Sioux City, Neb., and at Estherville. Her husband died May 4, 1963. She was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center here until the time of her death.

She is survived by two daughters, including Beverly (Mrs. Gordon) Barg of Anderson, Ind., and Janet (Mrs. Dean) Oleson of Leneza, Kan. Ten grandchildren also survive as do two sisters, Katherine (Mrs. John) Boyd of McLean, Va., and Pauline (Mrs. Howard) McCauley of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers and a sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 21, 1987)
