Estherville – Funeral services for Lawrence F. [Franklin] Anderson, 62, of Estherville, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with the Rev. Mark Gabbard officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville. He died on Saturday, April 13 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born on June 3, 1939 in Estherville, the son of Lawrence R. and Erma (McIntire) Anderson. He received his education in the Ringsted schools, graduating from Ringsted High School in 1957. He attended college at the University of Iowa for three years where he wrote sports articles for the Daily Iowan.

For many years, Lawrence lived in the rural Ringsted area where he farmed for a time with his brother Roger.

He also lived in Iowa City and then moved back to Estherville in the 1970s where he made his home.

Lawrence enjoyed playing the piano, he loved listening to music and entertaining at ECHO. He also enjoyed driving for recreation. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Estherville.

He is survived by his two brothers, Roger Anderson and wife Kathy of Estherville; Timothy Anderson and his wife Judy of Mankato, Minn.; a special friend, Judy Smith of Estherville; and three nieces and nephews.
