Death Takes Charles A. Levell, 90
Charles A. Levell, 90, former Wallingford area farmer, died Wednesday morning at a Jackson hospital. His death was attributed to infirmities of advanced age.Born April 5, 1877, he was the son of Abraham and Elizabeth Levell of Brandon, Iowa.
Charles Levell was married July 3, 1896 at Vinton to Clara Gray. In 1905 Mr. and Mrs. Levell moved to Emmet County and settled on a farm near Wallingford, where they continued to farm for many years.
Mr. Levell is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Edith) Blair of New Virginia, Iowa; two sons, Wilfred (Mike) Levell of Spirit Lake, Lumbert Levell of Petersburg; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Josephine Levell, Stella Price, Lenna Burkholder and Cora Cox; and one brother, Frank Levell.
Funeral services for Mr. Levell will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Union State Line Lutheran Church near Petersburg, Rev. Lowell Holstedt officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Salem Cemetery, Petersburg.
Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home anytime Friday and until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Carlyle Stender, Harold Hanson, Robert Levell, George Roggow, Alvin Knutson and Roman Pass. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 8, 1968)
