Le Mars – Services for Clarence H. (Woody) Woodyard, 71, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Le Mars Church of Christ with the Rev. Merrill Davis officiating; interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Estherville at 2:30 p.m. Friday. He died Monday, May 29, 1989 at Marian Health Center, Sioux City.

Friends may call at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars after 2 p.m. Thursday. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m.

He was born Feb. 15, 1918 at Breda, the son of Manuel and Marjorie (Carpenter) Woodyard. He married Marie Morris at Spirit Lake. He worked many years for John Morrell & Co. and retired and moved to Le Mars in 1986. He was a member of Le Mars Church of Christ, Estherville V.F.W. Post and I.O.O.F. He served in the army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife Marie, Le Mars; mother Marjorie Woodyard, Estherville; daughters: Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Porter and Mrs. Roy (Donna) Lyman both of Le Mars; Mrs. Reuben (Ellen) Evenson, Evansville, Ind.; Mrs. Douglas (Joanne) Higgins, Clarinda; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother Donald, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 30, 1989)
