Passed Away at Home in City November 19

Ida Eldora Boggess was born March 8, 1846, near Danville, Illinois. At the age of seventeen she removed with her parents to Howard county, Iowa, where she was united to Emra Hamm in 1889 [1883], to which union was born Ethel E., her only child. After a short period of happiness her husband was called home. In 1894 she was united in marriage to Harry Wood with whom she moved to Lake Park to be near her daughter and finally came to Estherville where she has resided for the last three years until death claimed her and her dear ones had to bid her an earthly farewell. She was a most kind and loving woman, with a smile and kind word for all whom she might meet. She was a great lover of God’s handiwork, it being no unusual sight to see her with arms full of flowers which she loved dearly. She was a member of the Congregational church at Bassett, Iowa, and a faithful attendant while here. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, one daughter, three sisters, six brothers and many friends.

The family have the sympathy of all in their sorrow. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, November 27, 1912)

Mrs. Harry Wood died Tuesday at 10:30 after an illness of several weeks. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Rickabaugh, on north Fourth street. She was a sister of the Boggess boys and Mrs. Oscar Hanson. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, November 27, 1912)
