Death of T. Raph [Rath]
Mr. T. Raph, of Davenport, Iowa, died at the Anderson hospital in this city Saturday morning. He had been here about three weeks representing a brewery of his city. Two weeks ago he was taken sick at the Orleans where he was stopping and his condition grew so bad that he was taken to the hospital, but he failed to rally. He was forty-six years of age. His wife [Wilhelmine Mundt] and son were at his bedside when the end came and Saturday evening they accompanied the remains to Davenport, where they were interred. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 17, 1902)Theodore Rath, a traveling salesman for the Davenport Brewery Co., died at the Anderson Hospital in this city Saturday morning after a two weeks’ illness with kidney trouble. He was taken sick at Hotel Orleans and removed to the hospital. His wife and son came early in the week and remained with him during his last hours. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, of Davenport, and the local lodge looked after him during his sickness here. The remains were taken to Davenport Saturday evening for burial.
