Death of a Pioneer
Armstrong Journal – Barzilla Hurlburt, an old resident and pioneer of this section, died at his home in the north part of town yesterday afternoon, after an illness of several months.

Mr. Hurlburt was born in Kenosha county, Wis., May 24, 1849, and moved to Emmet county, Iowa in the spring of 1871. Seven sisters survive to mourn his death. They are: Mrs. Fred Follett, Fairmonr; Mrs. Al Freeman, Fairmont; Mrs. Frank Kenyon, Clinton, Minn.; Mrs. Ed Felkey, Duluth, Minn.; D.K. Smith, Clinton Falls, Minn., Mrs. Wm. Connell, Marion, Ohio, and Mrs. E.L. Orcutt of this place.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow, after which the remains will be taken to Fairmont for interment. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 10, 1902)
