Estherville – Services for Alice Twigg, 72, of Estherville will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Estherville with Rev. David Wendel officiating. Interment will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Tuesday, December 21, 1993 at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge.Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
She was born November 4, 1921 in Webb, the daughter of Elmer and Dora (Beving) Templeman and received her education in the Webb Schools, graduating from Webb High School in 1938. She then attended St. Vincent School of Nursing in Sioux City, and graduated in 1942.
She was united to Robert Twigg on August 3, 1942 in Dickins. Following the marriage the couple lived in Seattle, Wa. until 1944. They then moved to Des Moines where she worked in a doctor’s office. In 1945, they moved to Estherville and was employed at the Holy Family Hospital, Dr. Johnson’s office and later, the Good Samaritan Center. Mr. Twigg died in 1987.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville and the V.F.W Auxiliary.
Survivors include: four sons, Dennis Twigg, Estherville, Douglas Twigg, Fort Dodge, Derwood Twigg, Eden Prairie and Theodore Twigg, Estherville; two sisters, Joyce Howard, Marathon and Imogene Stover, Duluth, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 22, 1993)
