Lois Tostenson
Estherville – Services for Lois Dean Tostenson, 78, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel, Estherville with the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Monday, Aug. 28, 1989 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4-9 p.m. Thursday.

She was born Feb. 3, 1911 at Estherville, the daughter of J.H. and Laura (O’Connell) Scharfenberg and was educated in the Estherville schools. On June 11, 1929 she was united in marriage with Gloide T. Tostenson at Algona. She lived her entire life in Estherville.

She was a member of the Christian Church and Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include one son Gloide D. Tostenson, Estherville; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. JoAnn Tostenson, Estherville; four grandchildren: Mrs. Steve (Laura) Zabel, Golden, Colo.; Chuck Tostenson, Estherville; Cindy Tostenson, St. Louis, Mo. and Gary Tostenson, Lenexa, Kans.; two sisters: Mrs. Margie Ober, Walla Walla, Wash.; Mrs. Ruth Otterson, Waitsburg, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son (Allan); parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 30, 1989)
