Ruth Stearns
Estherville – Services for Ruth Mabel Stearns, 67, Estherville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Estherville, with interment in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Stearns succumbed Tuesday [December 7, 1976] at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

She was born March 22, 1909 in Graettinger, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Christiansen. She received her education in Graettinger schools and married George H. Stearns in Estherville where Mr. Stearns was an engineer for the Rock Island Railroad for 49 years.

Mrs. Stearns was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one son, James Stearns, Estherville; one stepson, Robert W. Stearns, Long Beach, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Carl (Ruth) VanHoben, Whitefish, Mont.; two adopted sons, Robert H. Stearns, Long Beach, Calif., and Thomas Stearns, Lynn, Mass.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one son.
