Estherville – Services for Marjorie Stam, 80, of Estherville will be held Tuesday, June 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Rev. Dr. Mike Thiel officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. She died Friday, June 23 at Rosewood Manor Care Center in Estherville.Visitation will be held today, Monday, June 26 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
She was born February 17, 1915 in Whiting, the daughter of Raymond Scott and Gertrude Batman. She attended school in Gruver, graduating from Gruver High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to Anton (Tony) Stam on December 31, 1945 in Estherville. The couple farmed southwest of Estherville for several years before retiring and moving into Estherville in the late 1960’s.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Estherville.
She is survived by a son, Gary Stam of Estherville, a daughter, Shirley Buffer of Kalona, one granddaughter, one brother, Melvin Scott of Brookings, S.D., and two sisters, Dorothy Nelson of Mira Loma, Cal., and Phyllis Sheely of Earlham.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 5, 1982, one son, her parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 26, 1995)
