Iowa Falls – Mrs. John M. (Clara) Spoo, a native of Estherville, died Saturday [September 13, 1975] in University Hospitals in Iowa City of injuries she received as a result of a three-car crash a week ago on Iowa Highway 3 near Humboldt.Services for Mrs. Spoo will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls and at 3:30 p.m. the same day at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. The Rev. Lewis Wunderlich will officiate at the Iowa Falls service and the Rev. Ronald Flentgen the Estherville service.
Mrs. Spoo, 38, was born May 19, 1937 in Estherville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Thie. She received her education in Estherville schools.
She was married to John M. (Jack) Spoo on May 23, 1953 and the couple resided in Estherville until 1965 when moving to Iowa Falls, where Spoo is a maintainence employee for Farmland Foods.
Mrs. Spoo was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, baptized in 1947 and confirmed in 1952.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; three sons, Steven, Michael and Marvin, all at home; three daughters, Jacqueline, Joyce and Susan, all at home, her mother, Mrs. Bert Lind, Estherville; one grandmother, Mrs. Fred Clayton, Estherville; two brothers, Darrel Thie, Sequim, Wash., and Jim Thie, Everett, Wash.; and one step brother, Raymond Lind, Dolliver.
