Max Wiese
Chattanooga, Tenn. – Max [Herman] Wiese, 77, well-known Chattanooga architect, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1992 at his home.

Wiese was born Sept. 16, 1915 in Estherville, the son of Herman and Lulu (Snyder) Wiese and was educated in the Estherville schools graduating from high school in 1933. He graduated magna cum laude from Iowa State University with an architectural engineering degree. He was also a Phi Beta Kappa. He moved to Knoxville, Tenn. and joined the firm of Pickwick, Fontana and Norris, where he worked on TVA’s power dams. In 1946 he moved to Chattanooga and joined the firm of Gill and Bianculli. He was president of the Tennessee Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture.

Survivors include a sister, Leota Sparks, Davenport; two nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ben Wiese. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 21, 1992)
