Davenport – Leota K. (Wiese) Sparks, 84, of Davenport, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998 at her home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Runge Morturary and Crematory. Interment is in National Cemetery, Rock Island, Ill. Visitation is two hours prior to service time, Friday. Memorials may be made to Love for Animals/The Humane Society.

She was born Oct. 6, 1913 at Estherville, daughter of Herman and Lulu (Snyder) Wiese. She married Harold Dickinson in 1933 at Spencer. He preceded her in death in 1942.

She then married John Sparks, Jr., Jan. 12, 1951 at Spencer. He died in 1989.

Survivors include a son, Curtis Dickinson, Mollusk, Va., four grandsons and two great-grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 26, 1998)

Davenport - Services for Leota K. (Wiese) Sparks, of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is two hours before the service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sparks died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at her home.

She was employed 10 years at Nelson Jewelry, Spencer, Iowa.

Leota Wiese was born Oct. 6, 1913, in Estherville, Iowa, to Herman M. and Lulu (Snyder) Wiese. She married Harold K. Dickinson in 1933 in Spencer, Iowa. He died in 1942. She married John Sparks Jr. on Jan. 12, 1951, in Spencer. He died in 1989. Memorials may be made to Love for Animals/The Humane Society.

Survivors include a son, Curtis L. Dickinson, Mollusk, Va.; grandsons, John C. Dickinson, Woodbridge, Va., James D. Dickinson, Roanoke, Va., Jerome F. Dickinson, Woodbridge, and Joel L.
