Estherville – Eda E. Snyder, 99, Estherville, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maurice (Margaret) Juhl, rural Estherville. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. John Bowe officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to – p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville.

She was born July 2, 1884, near Paxton, Ill., to William and Johanna (Swanson) Anderson, and moved with her family to Sherburn, Minn., 1885. She later moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where she was a dress-maker, milliner and tailor for 15 years.

On Oct. 22, 1919, she married Fletcher Snyder at Minneapolis. The couple farmed north of Estherville until his death in 1949. She resided in Estherville until she began living on the farm with her daughter, Margaret, in 1982. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Estherville, and the local Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one son, three sisters, two brothers, one half brother, one grandson and one granddaughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 30, 1983)
