Hayden Dies Friday
Died From A Sudden Heart Attack. His Funeral Services Were Monday at Methodist Church
Funeral rites were held Monday afternoon for Benjamin F. Hayden, 85, in the Mahlum and Anderson funeral parlors with Rev. Fred D. Sawyer officiating. He died in his garage at 3:30 on Friday from a heart attack. He had been in poor health for the past year and suffered frequent heart ailments. For the past twenty years had been a resident of this city.

Mr. Hayden was born in Vernon County, Wisconsin in March 1857 and then in 1871 moved to Kossuth County in Iowa. In 1885 he was united in marriage to Minnie Greene at Lone Rock. To this union were born five daughters and one son.

The Haydens retired from the farm several years ago and have lived in Estherville. During his residing in this community, Mr. Hayden made many friends who will miss him greatly.

Besides his widow he leaves one son John of Moline, Ill.; five daughters, Mrs. J.F. Marshall of Fort Dodge; Mrs. Guy Campbell of Blue Island, Ill.; Mrs. Mamie Karr, Mrs. Louis Smith, and Mrs. Bert Ditsworth all of Estherville; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Art Mauss, Leo Sanders, Charles Robinson, Jack -, Lloyd --, and Dudley McDaniels. Following the services the body was sent to Bancroft for burial. (Vindicator and Republic, Estherville, IA, June 6, 1942)
