Harry L. Sims Dies at Home
Harry Louis Sims, 63-year-old city electrician, died of a heart attack at 10 o’clock last night at his home. He had suffered from a heart ailment since Christmas but had continued to work off and on when his health improved. He had told his wife he was feeling better the past few days.

Mr. Sims was born Feb. 16, 1889, in St. Charles in Madison county and was educated in Des Moines. On June 18, 1925, he married Mrs. Augustine Anderson in Estherville.

After living in St. Charles, Jefferson and Des Moines, Mr. Sims moved to Estherville in 1912 where he first worked on the railroad. He had been city electrician here for 35 years. He also had been a volunteer fireman most of his years in Estherville.

Surviving his death are his wife and five step-children, Everett and Edward Anderson, Mrs. Mack Peterson, all of Estherville; Kenneth and Robert Anderson of Tacoma, Wash. He also is survived by three brothers, Monte and Leo Sims of St. Charles and Ed Sims of Des Moines, and three sisters, Mrs. Ed Decker of Mason City, Mrs. Chalmer Cook and Mrs. W. Turner of St. Charles.

His parents preceded him in death.

Sims Rites Saturay
Funeral services for Harry Sims, city electrician here for 35 years, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sandin funeral home, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill. Friends may call at the Sandin funeral home tomorrow afternoon up to the time of the funeral. Mr. Sims died Tuesday at the age of 63. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 21, 1952)
