Estherville – Services for Harry Simpson, 87, Estherville, were held today at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Harvey Throop, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Masonic services were held Sunday evening.

Mr. Simpson died Friday [December 16, 1977] at Holy Family Hospital.

He was born Jan. 18, 1890, at Claremont [MN], the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Simpson. He received his education in Claremont schools and was married to Clara Larson in 1911 at Rock Rapids. He was a conductor for the Rock Island Railroad and lived in Estherville for 53 years.

Mr. Simpson was a member of the Presbyterian Church, North Star Lodge 447, Knights of Templar, Eastern Star and White Shrine.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harmon Veldy, Estherville; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Ralph Seary, Los Angeles, Calif. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 19, 1977)
