Mrs. Tila [Tilla] Sheldon Rites Tuesday in Estherville
Mrs. Tila Sheldon, 89, Minneapolis, died July 7, 1973. The widow of Ole Sheldon, and former resident of Estherville, she had been residing in Walker Methodist Residence in Minneapolis.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Stanley Eyberg, Estherville, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon had lived in Estherville until 1944 when they moved away. Ole Sheldon had died in 1961 and was buried here.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Eva) Holmes, Minneapolis, Mrs. Gail (Kathryn) Morse, Kingston, Jamaica, and Mrs. Orlo Bennett Richardson, Scottsdale, Ariz.; one son, Charles Sheldon, Houston, Tex.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Thompson, Faith, S.D.

Serving as pallbearers for the funeral will be Mrs. Sheldon’s nephews, Myron Swanson, Barry Bennett, Gary Holmes, Thomas Forchay, John Greig Jr. and Hugh Greig. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 9, 1973)
