Freda Shadle
Yuma, Ariz. – Memorial services for Freda R. Shadle, 90, of Yuma, Ariz., formerly of Estherville will be held in Yuma with a graveside service to be held a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. She passed away on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002 at the Yuma Medical Center in Yuma.Freda was a long time resident of Estherville where she and her husband, Francis T. Shadle, resided until their retirement in 1978. In retirement they split their time between Okoboji and Yuma.
A gifted teacher, homemaker, musician, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Freda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She is survived by three son, Stephen P. Shadle and his wife, Bobbie, of Yuma, George H. Shadle and his wife, Judy of Estherville and Dr. Mark F. Shadle of LeGrande, Ore.; nine grandchildren, Scott Shadle, Randy Shadle, Wendy Klimek, Susan Oster, Amy Gill, Beth Shadle, Celeste Shadle, Astrid Shadle and Spenser Shadle and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis T. Shadle; sister, Martha Van Meyer and her parents, Dr. and Mrs. H.O. Young of Marion. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 26, 2002)
