Estherville – Raymond Scott, 84, Estherville, died Friday at Holy Family Hospital.

Services for Mr. Scott were held Monday morning at the Estherville Christian Church with the Rev. James Harmon officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville.

Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, was in charge of arrangements.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Scott, he was born Feb. 25, 1894, at Lebanon, Ohio. After receiving his education in Illinois schools, he moved to Emmet County with his parents as a young man.

He was united in marriage to Gertrude Batman at Sioux City on Dec. 31, 1913. The couple farmed in the Gruver, Wallingford and Cylinder areas and later lived in Armstrong, where he was employed by the city. Mr. Scott was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville, after leaving Armstrong. He was a member of the Estherville Christian Church.

Mr. Scott is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Anton (Marjorie) Stam, Estherville, Mrs. Ted (Dorothy) Nelson, Mira Loma, Calif., and Mrs. Wayne (Phyllis) Sheely, Mason City; two sons, Melvin Scott, Brookings, S.D., and Robert Scott, Estherville; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Jensen, Estherville, Mrs. Charles Murrie, Deerfield, Ill., and Mrs. Ralph Wickersham, Chatanooga, Tenn.; and one brother, Charles Scott, Winter Park, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and six brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 10, 1978)
