Estherville – Services for William Puchniarz, 71, of Estherville will be held t the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, July 5 at 1:30 pm. with Father Tom Nash officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville with full Military Graveside Rites by V.F.W. Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville. He died Friday, June 30 at Holy Family Hospital.

Visitation will be held today, Monday, July 3 from 4-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home.

He was born March 1, 1924 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Andrew and Bernice (Cheimski) Puchniarz and received his education in the northern Wisconsin schools. He was united in marriage to Bernice Cole. He served in the United States Army during World War II. After the service, he owned and operated the Medeford Surplus Store in Wisconsin. He also traveled all over the United States as a traveling salesman. He presently owned and operated the Hillside Apartments in Estherville. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.

He is survived by three sons, William, Jr. of Sheboygan, Wis.; Peter of Anaheim, Cal.; Eugene of LaCrescenta, Cal.; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Judy) Jennings of Hemet, Cal.; Mrs. Doug (Lisa) Woodyard of Estherville; nine grandchildren and three sisters, Helen Rubino of Port Richey, Flor.; Sophie Opaliski of Chicago and Jean Balicki of Chicago.
