Milford – Services for Larry Lee Poss, 37, will be held Wednesday at Turner Funeral Home in Milford at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. John Petersen officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. He died Thursday, October 3, 1991 following an apparent heart attack at Bronx, N.Y.

Poss was born May 17, 1954 at Sibley, the son of Dixie and Richard Poss. He was in service from 1972-95. On Sept. 17, 1977 he married [Darlene] Kay Johnson at Arnolds Park. He had been driving truck since 1977 and was employed by Fostoria Truck Transport of Spencer.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene; sons: Dezie and D.J.; daughters, Sandy and Jessica; mother, Dixie Murray of Council Bluffs; brothers Jon and Craig, Arnolds Park; and grandmother, Laila Schroeder of Arnolds Park.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; sister, grandparents and step-father, Larry Murray. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 9, 1991)

Services for Larry Lee Poss, 37, Milford were 10:30 am., Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1991, at the Turner Funeral Home, Milford. Rev. John Petersen officiated. Pallbearers were Sonny Cross, James Coldron, Bill Gamble, Bobby Heil, Terry Hinners and Butch Muncil. Mr. Poss died Thursday, Oct. 3, in Bronx, NY, of an apparent heart attack.

He was born May 17, 1954, at Sibley, to Dixie and Richard Poss. He was in the service from 1972 to 1975. He married Darlene Kay Johnson Sept. 17, 1977, at Arnolds Park. He had been driving truck since 1977 and was employed by Fostoria Truck Transport of Spencer.

He enjoyed hunting, playing pool, boating, and water skiing. He enjoyed all country music, but especially the music of Elvis Presley.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene; sons, Dezi and D.J.; daughters, Sandy and Jessica; mother Dixie Rea of Council Bluffs; brothers, Jon and Craig, both of Arnolds Park; and grandmother, Laila Schroeder of Arnolds Park.

He was preceded in death by his father, one sister, a grandfather, a grandmother and his step-father.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. Turner Funeral Home, Milford, was in charge of arrangements. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, October 10, 1991)
