Estherville – Services for Marie Olson, 82, Estherville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Olson died Wednesday [January 17, 1979] afternoon at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 10 a.m. Saturday, when the body will be taken to the church.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Del Blake, she was born Dec. 8, 1896, at Dallas Center. She came to the Estherville area with her parents as a young girl and received her education in rural Emmet County schools.

She was married to William H. Olson on Jan. 15, 1915, at Estherville. Mrs. Olson was a member of the United Methodist Church, a member of the Federated Women’s Club for 37 years and served as a secretary for many years. She worked out of her home as a seamstress for the past 14 years.

Mrs. Olson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H.L. (Florence) Bryan, Omaha, Neb.; one son-in-law, Daniel Coke, Madison, Wisc.; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter and one granddaughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 19, 1979)
