Terril – Services for Mrs. Pauline Madsen, 79, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Terril with Pastor Norman Wenger officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. She did Sunday in St. Luke’s Lutheran Home in Spencer.Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 2:30 p.m. today (Wednesday).
Pauline Leppert [Lippert] Madsen was born Mar. 22, 1903 at Estherville, the daughter of John and Wilhelmina Leppert. She received her education in rural schools and graduated from Estherville High School. On July 18, 1932 she married Jerry A. Madsen at Spencer. They farmed in the Graettinger area 14 years then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. for ten years, then returned to the Graettinger area. She was employed by the Soil Conservation services for 28 years. He died Oct. 8, 1978.
Madsen was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Terrril. She had been a resident of St. Luke’s Home the past two years.
Survivors include two sons, Arnold of Prairie City, Ore. and Bill of Estherville and four grandchildren.
Madsen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 9, 1982)
