Estherville – Services for LeRoy Myles Larson, 77, Estherville, will be held Friday at 2 pm. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Wendel of United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 1990 at Holy Family Hospital.He was born Dec. 19, 1912 at Estherville, the son of Joe and Mabel (Thompson) Larson and was raised in the Dolliver area where he attended school graduating from high school in 1933. On Sept. 13, 1940 he was married to Barbara Fank at Primghar. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-1944 in Germany. After the war he farmed near Dolliver until 967 when they moved to Armstrong. In 1977 they moved to Ames. Soon after his wife’s death in 1985 he returned to Estherville. He was a member of the V.F.W.
Survivors include one son Larry Larson, Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Barbara) Workman, Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; step-father, Donald Woodruff; one sister Myrtle, Detroit, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 11, 1990)
