Estherville – Services for Arleva McKean, 88 of Estherville will be held Wednesday, February 1 at 1 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Rev. Brian Perry officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. She died Saturday, January 28, at Rosewood Manor.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

She was born March 2, 1906 in Green City, Mo., the daughter of Sherman and Clara (Mitchell) Triplett and attended Green City Schools. She moved to Estherville in 1923 and married Everett Shull in 1924. After his death in 1958, she worked at Black’s Grocery for a number of years. In 1972, she married Ed McKean. The couple continued to reside in Estherville until Ed entered a nursing home in Panora.

She was a member of the Union Baptist Church and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Trescha Jaramillo and Cindy Keegan, both of Portland, Ore.; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Roxie Houge of Spirit Lake and Hazel Anderson of Grove, Okla.; a step-son, Lloyd McKean of Wallingford, two step-daughters, Verna Sigler of Jefferson and Virginia McKean of New London, Minn., 14 step grandchildren, and 13 step great grandchildren.
