Death
Estherville – Services are pending at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home for Nickolas [Nicolas] Juhl, 41, Estherville. He died Wednesday at the Lehigh Valley Hospital of injuries suffered in a truck accident near Allentown, Penn. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 11, 1983)

Estherville – Services for Nicolas William Juhl, 42, rural Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Bowe officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died following a motor vehicle accident Wednesday, August 10, 1983 near Allentown, Pa. Military graveside services will be observed by the Estherville American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Sunday.

Juhl was born Sept. 27, 1940 at Ft. Dodge, the son of Maurice and Margaret (Snyder) Juhl, and attended North Maple Consolidated School, Rutland; Emmet Consolidated and Estherville schools. He also attended Estherville Junior College and Vocational College in St. Paul, Minn. He moved to California where he worked as a telephone lineman and for Alcoa Aluminum Co. before enlisting in the army. While in service he served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. After service, he operated his truck for Mayflower Transit for 10 years and most recently worked for Holiday Express. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He remained single.

Survivors include his parents, Maurice and Margaret Juhl, Estherville and a grandmother, Mrs. Eda Snyder; one brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Mary Ann Juhl, and nephews Jerry and Joseph Juhl, Healy, Alaska; three aunts and two uncles.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, paternal grandmother and one uncle. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 12, 1983)
