Fred Johnson Dies
Fred Johnson, 82, retired Estherville farmer, died today at the Good Samaritan Center, where he had made his home for a time. Funeral services are pending at the Fuhrman Funeral Home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 17, 1968)

F. Johnson Final Rites Saturday
Funeral services for Fred E. Johnson, who died Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Center after a lingering illness, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Fuhrman Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Calbreath of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Wayne Johnson, David Johnson, Gregg Johnson, Philip Partello, Michael Gilbert and John Gilbert.

Friends may call at Fuhrman’s after 3 p.m. Friday until time of services Saturday.

Fred Edward Johnson was born Oct., 1885 at Warrensburg, Il., the son of Edward and Kate Johnson.

He received his education in Illinois and was married Dec. 25, 19—at Ramsey, Ill., to ----. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Johnson farmed in Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa. Mrs. Johnson died in 1945.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Johnson is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Paul Izetta Partello of Estherville, Mrs. Henry Hazel Schaper of Mesa, Ariz., Mrs. Raymond Vivian Gilbert of Algona, and Mrs. E. R. (Helen) Verhines of Los Angeles, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mayme Isenberg of Alhambra, Ill.; and one brother, John Kunz of Sorento, Ill.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Lowell, who died in 1966, and an infant son. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 18, 1968)
