Estherville – Services for Hogan C. Hoganson, 91, of Estherville, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist church with the Rev. Larry Willey officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. He died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1997 at the Estherville Good Samaritan Center.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.
He was born Oct. 26, 1906 at rural Estherville, the son of Henry and Axcelia (Anderson) Hoganson. He attended rural Emmet County Schools. May 23, 1934, he was united in marriage to Ruby M. Crim at rural Estherville. He farmed southeast of Estherville until retiring in 1971. The couple moved into Estherville in 1980. Mrs. Hoganson died September 30, 1984. He has been a resident at Good Samaritan Center for two years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville and Emmet County Farm Bureau.
He is survived by sons Dean of Des Moines and Harlan of Pampa, Texas; daughter, Mrs. Doug (Diane) Lampkin, Sioux Falls, S.D.; granddaughters: Heidi, Deana, Holly Hoganson; Jennifer Benjamin; grandsons: Christopher, Matthew Hoganson, Joel Benjamin; brother Arnold Hoganson, Estherville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruby, daughter and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 17, 1997)
