Chas. L. Butler Died Here Last Wednesday
Resident of This City a Year – Brother-in-law of Dick Hoggett
Chas. Leslie Butler died at his home in this city on Wednesday [November 30, 1921] of last week after a short illness. He had been a resident of this city for the past year coming here from Kewanee, Illinois to accept a position with his brother-in-law Mr. Hoggett at the cigar factory. He is survived by the wife and one child, a boy of 17. His sister Mrs. Hoggett and one brother also survive him.

Chas. Leslie Butler was born at Gate City, Illinois on January 1st, 1878. His early life was spent at Elmwood, Illinois and it was at this place that he was married to Miss Josephine Hand in 1901. Those of our people who became acquainted with him here speak of him in the highest terms. The body was taken to Kewanee last Thursday and funeral services held at that place last Friday.
