Mrs. W.C. Hilburn Dies; Services Planned Tuesday
Mrs. W.C. (Margaret Ann) Hilburn, 64, Estherville, died at 5 a.m. Oct. 27 in Holy Family Hospital, Estherville, where she had been the past five days. She has had multiple sclerosis for 38 years.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rv. Harvey Throop officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Fuhrman ‘s any time until time of services.
She was born Feb. 4, 1909, in St. Paul to Walter and Bertha King and received her education in Sioux City schools. She was graduated from Sioux City Central High School and received her bachelor of arts degree from Morningside College. She taught English in high schools at Rippey and Churdan.
On May 29, 1934, she was married to Willis C. Hilburn in Sioux City. They came to Estherville in 1953, where he served as superintendent of schools until two years ago. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Douglas at home and Dwight in Fairmont; her mother, Mrs. Bertha King of San Diego; one sister, Mrs. Marion White, San Diego; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Hilburn was preceded in death by her father and one son, Donald. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 29, 1973)
