Iowan Killed When Car Tire Blows Out
Huntington, Ia. – An elderly Estherville man, William A. Hendrickson, was killed Friday [November 30, 1956] when a tire on his car blew out just inside the Iowa line.

Hendrickson, 73, died of a broken neck.

Authorities said the accident occurred on a graveled county road six miles north and one half miles east of Estherville.

Hendrickson was turning onto highway 17 coming towards Estherville at the time of the accident.

Survivors include his invalid wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ted Olson of Iowa City, and four grandchildren. (Cedar Rapids Gazette, Cedar Rapids, IA, November 30, 1956)
