Hammond Services Set Saturday
Leroy (Roy) A. Hammond, 66, Estherville, died at 3:40 a.m. yesterday, Aug. 31, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital, following an operation Monday.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hammond was born April 27, 1906, at Belmond to Mr. and Mrs. Homer Hammond. He was educated in Montana where he moved with his parents as a young boy. On Feb. 18, 1940, he was married to Zella Rugtiv at Nashua.

He had lived as a young man at Waterloo and they lived for a time after their marriage there and then moved to Belmond in 1951. They left Belmond in 1965 to make their home in Estherville, where Mr. Hammond operated the Estherville Trailer Sales until his retirement in 1971. Since that time, they had traveled, returning to Estherville recently, when he was hospitalized. Mr. Hammond was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Zella, of Estherville and one nephew, Bradley Hammond, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
