Estherville – Bernice J. Grinde, 93, died on Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.

Funeral services will be held at a later time.

She was born on June 27, 1907 in Estherville, the daughter of Joseph and Ursula (Glen) Yeager. She received her education in the Estherville Schools and she graduated from Estherville High School.

On September 24, 1927, she was united in marriage to Robert S. Lee in Crownport, Ind.

On April 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Sig Grinde in Jackson, Minn. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville. She was employed at several local retail and financial businesses in Estherville, the last being Iowa Trust Bank. Bernice was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway.

She is survived by one daughter, Lou Ann Thomsen and her husband, Axel of Ringsted; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Grinde of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, step-son Douglas Grinde; two brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 11, 2001)
