Lee Griffith Dies
Lee Griffith Died Saturday night, January 27th at the home of his brother, John Griffith in this city from a stroke of paralysis which he suffered on Thanksgiving day and from which he never recovered. The remains were taken to his old home at Ames Monday morning where they were laid to rest in the family lot at that place.

Mr. Griffith was born March 15, 1846, being nearly 71 years of age at the time of his death. He had made his home with his brother since last spring, when he came here from Kansas. Besides his brother, John, of this city he leaves a father and one sister, Mrs. Payne who resides in Washington. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 31, 1917)

Death of Leander Griffith
Leander Griffith brother to John Griffith of this city passed away at the home of the latter on last Saturday. Mr. Griffith has been living with his brother in this city since May last. In the latter part of November he suffered from a stroke of paralysis. Since that time he has had two others the last one proving fatal. Mr. Griffith was born in Springfield, Ill. and was seventy-one years of age at the time of his death. The remains were taken to Ames for burial accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. John Griffith.
