Estherville – Mrs. J.J. (Florence) Griffith, 78, Estherville, died early Sunday [June 24, 1979] at Holy Family Hospital.

Services for Mrs. Griffith will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Estherville Christian Church with the Rev. James Harmon officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and at the church prior to services.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Graves, she was born March 13, 1901, in rural Jackson, Minn. She received her education in Jackson schools and was married to J.J. Griffith on Feb. 14, 1920, at Estherville. She spent her entire married life in the Estherville area.

She was a member of the Estherville Christian Church, VFW Auxiliary and Degree of Honor.

Mrs. Griffith is survived by her husband, J.J. Griffith, Estherville; one son, Keith L. Griffith, Pocahontas, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Phyllis) Bendixen, Clear Lake, Wisc.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Hinkley, Pine City, Minn.; and one brother, Clarence Graves, Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sons, four brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 25, 1979)
